The country’s biggest Jamaat of Eid-ul-Azha was held at historic Sholakia ground in Kishoreganj town with participation over thousands of devotes and unprecedented security measures.
The 195th Jamaat of this year was held at 9.00 am on Sunday morning following the custom of opening blank fire.. Islamic thinker Maulona Md.Hefzur Rahman Khan led the Eid Jamaat. A special munajat was offered seeking divine blessing for peace, development and welfare of the people of the country as well as the Muslim Ummah. Prayers are also offered to get rid of the Covid outbreak.
Two special trains named ‘Sholakia Express ‘ carried the devotees on Bhairab Bazar to Kishoreganj and Mymensingh to Kishoreganj routes.
Dewan Haybat Khan, the sixth generation of the Emperor Isha Khan, the ruler of Bengal, donated seven acres of land for the Sholakia congregation.
Considering the horrific militant attack on July, 07,2016, District Administration and law enforcement agencies had once again taken impeachable security measures, two platoons BGB, huge members of RAB, Armed Police Battalion, plainclothes detective police,and others agencies were active at Sholakia Eidgah ground. Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Kishoreganj Mohammad Shamim Alam, Additional DIG Mashrukur Rahman Khaled, Zila Parishad Administrator , also District Awami League President Advocate Zillur Rahman, Deputy Secretary in Local Government Habibur Rahman, Mayor Pervez Miah, Sadar UNO Mohammad Ali Siddique, , CAB district president Alam Sarowar Tito, District Press Club president Mostafa Kamal, along with civil society members and other devotees joining the Eid prayers.
