UNB, Dhaka :
BNP standing committee member Lt Gen (retd) Mahbubur Rahman on Saturday alleged that the country is now under the grip of an ‘indirect one-party rule’.
“There’s no democracy in the country and no existence of opposition in parliament. The country is now under the grasp of an indirect one-party rule,” he said.
The BNP leader came up with the remark at a discussion at the Jatiya Press Club organised by Jatiya Jubo Sanghati in memory of former prime minister Kazi Zafar Ahmed who died on August 27 this year. Mahbub criticised the government for what he said a serious slide in law and order.
