Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Monday said that the country has adequate stock of essential food grains for the holy month of Ramadan.
“The country has adequate stock of essential goods like chickpeas, lentil, onion and garlic for the holy Ramadan,” the minister said replying to a query from ruling party lawmaker Gazi M M Amjad Hossen Milon (Sirajganj-3) in the house.
The country has a stock of 2.18 lakh tonnes chickpeas, 4.46 lakh tonnes lentil, 8.54 lakh tonnes onion and 0.88 lakh tonnes garlic, the minister added.
