Corruption-free land management stressed

Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sherif said it is possible to bring down the corruption in his ministry by applying digital land management system.
“We are working relentlessly for achieving the goal. We have collected up to date machineries from abroad to make the land management system modern and corruption-free. We are also working to turn the workforce of the ministry skilled by providing them with foreign trainings,” he said.
The minister said these on Wednesday while addressing a national seminar titled “Our Dream is to Establish a Corruption Free Country” on the occasion of 19th founding anniversary of “Oporadh Bichitra” at capital’s BMA Auditorium.
Sherif also added, “Many undemocratic political parties and parties involved with negative politics on many occasions polluted the nation by injecting corruption and crimes in its vein in the name of democracy. The current government under the firm leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is committed to institutionalize democracy by making the country free of corruption.”
Later, he handed over Oporadh Bichitra Performance Award among the winners.
Presided over by Oporadh Bichitra editor SM Morshed, the function was attended by vice chancellor of National University Prof Dr Harun Ur-Rashid, chairman of the Bangladesh Press Council Justice Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, advocate Sanzida Khanam, MP, among others.
