Communications Minister Obaidul Quader urged the corrupt educated person to change their mindset for development of the country.
“We have to change mindset for development of the country, we want educated person but not corrupt educated person,” he said on Wednesday while inaugurating City IT (information technology) fair at IDB Bhaban.
BCS Computer City organized the eleven-day “World Cup Game-Technology Fair”. State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak and Bangladesh Computer Samity president Mustafa Jabbar were present as special guests. BCS Computer City president Mazibur Rahman Sawpon delivered welcome speech, while its secretary general and convener of the fair committee ANM Quamruzzaman gave vote of thanks. “Bangladesh doesn’t need corrupt educated person and we don’t want rotten and derailed talents,” Quader said. Mentioning Dhaka city as the least livable capital among the 140 cities on the globe, the minister said city dwellers have been facing intolerable traffic jam and many are occupying the streets with their motor vehicles unnecessarily. Giving this example as a common phenomenon in the city, he said a person uses 12 motor vehicles without need and occupying major portion of the street causing traffic jam. Moreover, motorists ride vehicles in free style and also park their vehicles illegally that creates traffic jam, the minister said, adding, “So, we have to change our mindset for development of the city and reduce traffic jam.”
“Coordinated steps will be taken to reduce traffic jam,” Quader said.
Regarding the Metro Rail, the minister said the metro rail authority will consider BCS Computer City as a station on the route.
Palak said the government has taken a project to make 8,500 post offices as e-centres for better service to the people. A total of 160 computer related business establishments will display their items on its 2,00,000 square feet fair area. The fair will continue up to March 8 and will remain open from 10:00am to 8:00pm every day for the visitors.
