Corona has firmly grasped the port of Chattogram , the economic heart of the country. So far, a total of 432 workers have been detected with coronavirus in Ctg port. The deceased have been identified as Abdul Mannan, secretary to the chairman of the port authority, Fakhrul Alam, a former CBA leader and 12 others, including officials of the port’s engineering department.
The latest affected port director (administration) Mominur Rashid has been attacked with Corona. His corona report came positive on Monday. He is an officer to the rank of Deputy Secretary to the Government.Chattogram Port Secretary Omar Farooq said, “the port is open 24 hours even during the general holidays in Corona period . The port has to keep the country’s ongoing import-export consignment movement in and outside the sheds. The officials and employees of the port have worked at the risk of their lives. ‘He said Importers and C&F agents offiials come to the port for unloading, import-export duty. It is not possible to maintain social distance as about 12,000 customers come to the custom house and port every day.
According to port sources, a total of 2,456 samples were collected at the port hospital for corona testing. A total of 432 people were detected infection.
