RTPCR Lab has been set up at Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport to test the corona virus of foreign passengers. Corona test activities have been started from Monday (January 3).
Earlier, experimental activities were carried out in this lab set up at the airport from December 29. Direct flights from Chittagong to UAE are also being launched due to launch of RTPCR Lab. According to the health department, passengers bound for the UAE have to arrive at the airport 6 hours before the flight. The coronavirus test will be done after giving the sample there. Passengers will receive results within 3 to 6 hours of receiving the sample.
Chittagong Divisional Health Director Hasan Shahriar Kabir said that in the case of corona test in the lab set up at the airport, the expatriate workers registered with the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare will not be charged any fee.
The ministry will pay a fee of Tk 1,600 per person for them. However, visitors or other passengers will have to pay a fixed fee . As a result of launching Corona test program in the lab at the airport, it is now possible to go directly to the UAE from Shah Amanat international airport, sources said.
