Health Minister Zahid Maleque on Thursday said the airing of the daily health bulletin on the country’s coronavirus situation has been stopped following a fall in infection and morality rates.
After attending a meeting on specialised hospitals at the Secretariat, he said arrangement has been made to disseminate coronavirus information through press release as both infection and mortality rates from coronavirus declined in the country.
The minister said several

government hospitals will be designated for coronavirus treatment while the rest will be released for treatment of other diseases next month.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) aired the health bulletin last on Tuesday.
During the bulletin, DGHS Additional Director General Prof Nasima Sultana said coronavirus information would now be disseminated through press release.
The DGHS had been arranging the daily online health bulletin on the country’s coronavirus situation for the last four months.

IEDCR Director Prof Meerjady Sabrina Flora used to hold the briefing at her office.
Later, the online health bulletin was initiated considering the health risk.
