A police constable was stabbed by his colleague at Laxmichhari Police Station of the district on Tuesday noon.
He is Mongchai Chak, a police constable hailing from Bandarban district.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Mojid Ali confirmed the incident and told reporters that Constable Mohammad Faruq was locked in an altercation with Mongchai Chak at 12pm. At one stage, Faruq stabbed Mongchai with a sharp knife.
Later, police detained Faruq, and he is in police custody now.
Legal action would be taken against him, the SP added.
