A member of Bangladesh Police was detained for selling Yaba pills tablets in Kaliganj upazila of Gazipur on Friday night.
Accused constable identified as Mahmudul Hasan alias Saikat is a resident of Soiladi village in Kaliganj upazila.
He is posted at Narsingdi Police Lines where he has been remaining absent for a long time.
AKM Mizanul Haque, Officer in-Charge of Kaliganj Police Station told the media that after getting the information, a team from Kaliganj Police Station conducted a drive and arrested Mahmudul Islam with 25 Yaba pills from his house.
Mahmudul Islam used to deal with a drug gang

Mahmudul Islam used to deal with a drug gang
and has been trading Yaba tablets in the areas under the upazila using his profession, OC added.
A case was also filed with the Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act, said its officer in-charge.
However, he was produced in a Gazipur court on Saturday afternoon.
