A member of Khulna Armed Police Battalion (APBN) allegedly strangulated his wife after beating on Friday night and he was arrested.
According to OC Shafiqul Islam of Khanjahan Ali thana of Khulna Metropolitan Police constable Mahmud Alam of APBN allegedly killed his wife Aesha Akhter ,20 by strangulating her after beating mercilessly.
A mark of bite on her throat and some marks of beating were found on her body. After killing her in the night he left the house in the morning. The neighbors breaking open the door in the afternoon found the body on the floor and informed the police.
Police recovered the body and sent it to KMCH morgue.
Family member said they married just 5 months before. Both of them hail from Asashuni upazilla of Satkhira district.
Police arrested Mahmud Alam from the Shiromony bazaar in the afternoon.
