Chittagong Bureau :
A Doa Mahfil followed by discussion meeting in memory of reputed journalist of Chittagong, former Treasurer of Chittagong Press Club, former President of Chittagong Union of Journalists and Bureau Chief of defunct Dainik Bangla was held at CPC Seminar Hall on December 25 last with Journalist SM Jamaluddin in the chair.
Saiful Alam Smriti Sangsad and Bangladesh Human Rights Sangstha jointly arranged the reminiscence .
Noted journalist , literateur, intellectual Abul Momen graced the occasion as chief guest. General Secretary of Chittagong Sangbadpatra Parisad , noted FF and journalist Moinuddin Quaderi Showkat was the keynote speaker in it. General secretary of SA Smriti Sangsad Md. Nazimuddin moderated the discussion meeting.
The chief guest in his deliverations said Journalist Saiful Alam was the worshiper of the truths and a journalist of ethical principles .He said once journalist means addiction and devoted to profession and Saiful Alam was the journalist of that decades. The chief guest also said journalist like Saiful Alam is rare in the journalism profession , we can say Saiful Alam was the journalist of golden age.The keynote speaker Moinuddin Quaderi Showkat said Saiful Alam was a history aware journalist and was uncompromising to the demands of the journalists and sustaining the status , dignity of the journalists.
In the concluding speech, the chair of the discussions, Journalist SM Jamaluddin said editors and journalists like Md.Abdula Khaleque Engineer , litterateur Mahbubul Alam , Moniruzzaman Islamabadi, Prof Md. Khaled, Poet Ohidul Alam, Abdullah al Sagir, Md. Yousuf Chowdhury, Taslim uddin Chowdhury, Saiful Alam enlightened the history of Chittagong and remembered their contributions to the development of journalism.
