The construction work of the sluice gate on estuary of Moheshkhal canal in Halishahar in the city will begin very shortly immediate after the finalization of detailed design of the SG by Consultant firm.
Chairman of Chattogram Development Authority Abdus Salam accompanied with Project Director Lt. Col Rezaul, Engineering team of CDA, Project Consultant and contractor’s representative and elite of the respective areas visited the sites of the proposed sluice gate on Wednesday morning aimed at finalization of the site selection.
To get rid of miseries of the people of Ward Nos 11, 24,25, 26,27, 36,37 and 38 , the much talked sluice gate will be constructed over the estuary of Moheshkhal very shortly. CDA chairman told the dwellers of the area that Prime Minister is very much cordial for the people of Chattogram and her personal initiatives, mega projects for about Tk.5,600 crores have been granted for resolving the waterlogging problems of the port city .
He also in formed the local AL leaders that for durable construction of sluice gate and canal excavation, Engineering core of Bangladesh Army has been entrusted with the works of mega projects. He urges the city dwellers to cooperate towards the work of CDA, Army and contracting firms for smooth completion of the waterlogging projects.
