Construction of 8 -km long 4-lane Shah Amanat Bridge road begins

General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League and Minister for Communications and Bridges Obaidul Quader MP ruled out signing any agreement with neighboring India against the national interests .
Centring the current visit of the Prime Minister to India, he said if she signs any deal, she will do it protecting the country’s interests and upholding sovereignty.
 Obaidul Quader disclosed it while addressing the the commemorative meeting on AL leader Sekandar Hayet Khan held at Mohora Ispahani High School ground on Thursday noon as Chief Guest.
The minister said the BNP has started exposing their old habit of anti-Indian sentiments after hearing about the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s tour to India.
He urged the countrymen to remain away from India phobia, not to heed propaganda and to refrain from spreading anti-India sentiments. “Nothing remains secret in this era of free flow of information,” he said in regards to possibility of signing deals with India.
Vice President of city AL Khurshed Alam Sujan presided over the meeting while City Mayor A J M Nasir Uddin, President of Chittagong north district AL Muslem Uddin Ahmed and General Secretary Mofizur Rahman and Chairman of Chittagong Development Authority Abdus Salam joined the meeting, among others.Earlier, the Minister inaugurated the construction work of eight-kilometer long four-lane Bahaddarhat – Shah Amanat Bridge Road at Bahaddarhat point in the morning.
