BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Friday alleged that a conspiracy is underway to kill party Chairperson Khaleda Zia without giving her proper treatment.
He further alleged that no doctor has been visiting the ailing BNP chairperson for the last 14 days.
Rizvi said this while speaking at a press conference at the party’s central office at Nayapaltan in the morning.
“BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is critically sick. She has been shifted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) from jail. The ruling Awami League government is showing cruel behaviour towards her illness, and they have taken away her right to get better treatment,” he said.
The BNP leader said that the medical board, comprising hematologists and formed by the BSMMU Vice-Chancellor, has not provided any updates of Khaleda Zia’s health condition to her family members since its formation last week.
“Begum Khaleda Zia is not getting sound sleep at night due to severe pain, and her health condition has also deteriorated further,” he added.
