‘Community clinics effectively providing health services’

Speakers at a views-sharing meeting said the community clinics have been providing health services effectively to the rural people and ensuring safe pregnancy and safe maternity to prevent maternal and neonatal deaths.
Fulbari Area Development Programme (ADP) of World Vision Bangladesh (WVB) and Syedpur Community Clinic jointly organised the meeting on ‘Essential Health Services’ yesterday at Madila Sub-centre under Betdighee union of Fulbari upazila in Dinajpur.
With Chairman of the Managing Committee of Syedpur Community Clinic Yakub Ali in the chair, Programme Officer of Fulabri ADP of WVB Badal Sangma addressed the meeting as the chief guest.
Health Programme Organiser of Fulabri ADP of WVB Kanon Baroi and Member of the Managing Committee of Syedpur Community Clinic Hased Ali Master addressed as the special guests.
A total of thirty participants, including members of the Managing Committee of Syedpur Community Clinic, volunteers, health and medicare service providers, public representatives, pregnant women and mothers and local elite, were present.
Community Health Care Provider (CHCP) of Syedpur Community Clinic Mominul Islam narrated the health services being provided by the community clinic successfully to the rural people from all walks in life.
“About 80 to 100 rural people of all ages have been getting health and medicare services on an average daily at Syedpur Community Clinic,” he said and called upon the common rural people to avail the health service there.
He sought cooperation of all for establishing breast feeding and children corners at of Syedpur Community Clinic.
Kanon Baroi disseminated knowledge on importance of ensuring essential health services for common people and ensuring safe pregnancy, safer maternity and safe delivery with better maternal and neonatal health services.
He discussed the sources of nutrition, importance of optimum nutrition for pregnant women, five major dangers during pregnancy, reasons behind maternal and neonatal deaths, eradication of superstitions and importance of first milk for newborn babies.
The speakers stressed for ensuring essential health services to the common rural people and balanced diets for pregnant women, lactating mothers, babies, breastfeeding for six months and providing more vegetables to the pregnant women for balanced nutrition.
The chief guest asked the CHCPs, health volunteers and all concerned for motivating the common people in availing the essential health services at the community clinics and sensitising the villagers to ensure safe pregnancy, safe delivery for safe motherhood.
