Committee formed to resist violence, sabotage activities

The Chittagong District Administration has formed a committee for law and order affairs to resist the ongoing violence and sabotage activities.
The 14-member committee was formed by directives from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) with Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chittagong Mezbah Uddin Ahmed as its Chairman.
Additional District Magistrate has been made the Member Secretary (MS) of the committee while officials with the rank and status of a deputy secretary from City and district police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Ansar and two intelligence agencies will work as the members of the committee.
Besides, the presidents and general secretaries of three chapters of Chittagong Awami League have also been included as the members of the Law and Order committee. DC of Chittagong Mezbah Uddin Ahmed, also chairman of the committee told that the committee would hold regular meetings to review sabotage acts, violence and overall conditions of law and order in the district.
“The committee would also chalk-out work plans to maintain law and order situation,” the DC said adding the first meeting of the committee was held at Chittagong Circuit House Conference room recently.
