Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque said they have started special commando training for its police members, aiming to stop militant and terrorism activities in the country.
He said it to local journalists after an inauguration of A, Battalion Specialised Training Center at Khagrachhari Hill town on Saturday afternoon.
Praising recent police success in anti-militant activities IGP AKM Shahidul Hoque said government has a plan to keep at least a commando unit at divisional stage to combat militant activities.
Threatening extortionists in Chittagong Hill Tracts, IGP also said police are strongly handling them and bringing them under law.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Chittagong Shafiqul Islam, Additional DIG (Training and Sports) Dr Khandaker Mohid Uddin, Commanding Officer of A,P, Battalion Specialized Training Center Aourangajeb Mahbub, Khagrachhari Police Super Md Mozid Ali, Sadar Zone Commander GM Shohag, Additional District Magistrate Abul Amin spoke among others.
