The Comilla Medical College has been closed down indefinitely following a clash between factions of the ruling party’s student affiliate.

At least 15 students were injured on Tuesday night, when a clash broke out between two factions of the Bangladesh Chhatra League, said Principal Mohsinuzzaman Chowdhury.

“The college has been closed to avoid further trouble. Students have been told to vacate dormitories by 4pm,” he told bdnews24.com on Wednesday.

According to students, a turf war erupted between two BCL factions.

Police, however, say second-year students were involved in the clash.

Local police OC Abdur Rab said the clash was an outcome of previous feud. –bdnews24.com
