Comfortable win for Dhaka Dynamites

Dhaka Dynamites posted a comfortable 34-run victory over Sylhet Super Stars in their Twenty20 cricket match of the 3rd Bangladesh Premier League at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Friday.
Opting to bat first, Dhaka Dynamites piled up a mammoth 166 for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs and then they bowled out Sylhet Super Stars for 132 off 19.5 overs.
Dhaka Dynamites made a shaky start as they lost their two wickets for 33 runs.
Opener Saikat Ali returned to the pavilion before he had opened his account. He was caught at the third-man by Nasum Ahmed off Mohammad Shahid when Dhaka’s score was just two.
Then Shadman Islam (15), the other opener of Dhaka was cleanly bowled out by Fidel Edwards when Dhaka’s total was 33 for the loss of two wickets.
Later, Kumar Sangakkara and Nasir Hossain rescued their team from early debacle contributing together 66 runs for the third wicket partnership before Nasir Hossain was bowled out by Nasum Ahmed when Dhaka’s score was 99 for the loss of three wickets.
Kumar Sangakkara hit a terrific 75. His 56-ball innings was laced with nine fours and a six.
After departure of Nasir Hossain, Dhaka Dynamites failed to build any notable partnership.
Nasir Hossain made a worthy 33 from 29 balls featuring three sixes.
Lahiru Thirimanne (13) was bowled out by EMDY Munaweera when Dhaka’s total was 126 for the loss of four wickets.
Kumar Sangakkara was caught at the mid-wicket by Mominul Haque off Mohammad Shahid when Dhaka’s total was 152 for the loss of five wickets.
Abul Hasan (7) was run out by Fidel Edwards when Dhaka’s innings came to an end.
Pacer Mohammad Shahid bagged a couple of wickets at the cost of 27 runs while Nasum Ahmad, EMDY Munaweera, Fidel Edwards got one wicket each conceding 20, 20 and 35 runs respectively.
Dhaka’s bowlers dominated over Sylhet batsmen.
Mosharraf Hossain grabbed three wickets at the cost of 15 runs while Yasir Shah, Mustafizur Rahman and Abul Hasan chipped in with two wickets each for 24,30 and 30 runs respectively.
Sylhet Super Stars made a modest start with openers EMDY Munaweera and Joshua Cobb added together 31 runs before Munaweera (16) was caught at the mid-on by Shadman Islam off Abul Hasan.
Mosharraf Hossain of Dhaka Dynamites dismissed Joshua Cobb for 15 runs, removed Mominul Haque for 12 and picked up the wicket of Ravi Bopara for just five runs.
Skipper Mushfiqur Rahim of Sylhet Super Stars was trapped leg before wicket by Abul Hasan when Sylhet’s score was 80 for the loss of five wickets.
Mushfiqur Rahim scored 23 from 22 balls including three fours.
After departure of Mushfiqur Rahim, Nurul Hasan and Nazmul Hossain Milon added together 37 runs for the sixth wicket partnership before Nazmul Hossain (13) was stumped out by Kumar Sangakkara off Yasir Shah when Sylhet’s score was 117 for the loss of six wickets.
Then Nazmul Islam (2) was caught at the cover by Farhad Reza off Yasir Shah when Sylhet’s total was 119 for the loss of seven wickets.
‘ Wonder Boy’ Mustafizur Rahman struck when Mohammad Shahid was bowled by Left-arm pacer Mustafizur when Sylhet’s score was 124 for the loss of eight wickets.
Mustafizur struck again as Nasum Ahmed was bowled by Mustafizur for naught when Sylhet’s total was 124 for the loss of nine wickets.
Then Fidel Edwards (5) was caught at the third-man by Abul Hasan off Farhad Reza when Sylhet’s innings was concluded.
