Come forward to protect democracy: Tabith

Tabith Awal, Bangladesh Nationalist Party mayoral candidate for the upcoming Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) polls, has urged all to work together against all conspiracies to protect democracy.
He made the request while addressing an electioneering rally in Mirpur BRTA office area in the capital on Sunday.
Tabith said that they are looking forward to the steps taken by the Election Commission for holding a free and fair election.
Meanwhile, BNP another mayor candidate for Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Engineer Ishraque Hossain said, “Since my father is no more alive, you are my guardian. I will not fear anything if I have your mercy. I stay on the voting race and fighting until the end of the election.”
He said this while addressing an election campaign on the JN Saha Road in the capital’s Lalbagh area on Sunday.
Israque said, “February 1 election is an opportunity for the restoration of democracy and the release of our leader Begum Khaleda Zia. You will not miss out on that opportunity. You will go to the polling center without any fear and exercise your franchise.
Earlier on the day, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, along with the party’s two mayor
candidates for the DSCC and DNCC polls paid tributes to the party founder President Ziaur Rahman, marking his 84th birth anniversary.
BNP Chairperson’s Adviser Zainul Abdin Farroque, Executive Committee Member Nipun Roy Chowdhury, Dhaka North Juba Dal President SM Jahangir Hossain, General Secretary Shafikul Islam Milton, and party leaders Akramul Hasan and Habibur Rahman Habib, among others, attended the rally.
