Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid has said that combined entry tests will be taken from the next year in a bid to admit students into the public universities across the country. The minister made the disclosure while speaking to the reporters in his office at the Secretariat on Sunday noon. Nahid said, “The English questions for Dhaka University ‘Kha’ unit admission test were made difficult intentionally and for this, only two students secured the required marks to enroll at the Department of English”. The minister blamed, how it is possible that only two students secured the required marks to enroll at the Department of English while about a total of 1,66,000 students took part in the test. “The evaluation process also was faulty, that`s why students failed. This is not our issue, it`s their matter. They have to take decision, if they enroll the students or not,” Nahid uttered. Nahid alleged that some Dhaka University teachers made the difficult questions influenced by greediness and in an intention to decry the country`s education system”. The minister also pointed out that the Dhaka University teachers are involved with coaching business by which they are looting more than Tk 32,000 crore every year. “You should be responsible. Do not ruin the future of the students,” said Nahid. –risingbd.com
