Luis Rodriguez and Facundo Farias struck either side of halftime as Colon de Santa Fe continued their impressive start to the Argentine Primera Division season with a 2-0 win at Central Cordoba on Friday.
Rodriguez put the visitors ahead in the 17th minute by converting from the penalty spot after Brian Fernandez was brought down by Nahuel Banegas.
Farias struck again nine minutes from time when he combined with Cristian Bernardi on the counterattack before slotting home a cool finish.
The hosts played the last eight minutes with 10 men after Francisco Cerro was shown a second yellow card for a bad foul.
The result means Colon are now four points clear at the top of Group 2 with four wins, one draw and one loss. Second-placed Independiente will play Defensa y Justicia on Sunday. Central are third with five points and Defensa last with two points.
In Friday’s only other fixture, Rosario Central drew 1-1 at Banfield after an Emiliano Vecchio penalty canceled out Juan Alvarez’s opener.
