Collegiate School’s foundation stone laid in Matlab

A new educational institution’s foundation stone was laid formally at a simple ceremony held at Hazir Done area in Matlab Dakshin Upazila Sadar. The name of the institution is ”KFT Collegiate School”located in a calm and quiet environment . It was named after ” Alhaj Abdul Kader Mollah and Fatema Begum Trust (KFT)”.
Noted social workers Mosammat Fatema Begum and her brother renowned Industrialist and philanthropist MA Bari of the area formally laid the foundation stone together and then a special prayer was offered seeking divine blessings at a simple ceremony on 30 December.
Matlab Dakhshin Upazila Chairman and AL leader BHM Kabir Ahmed was the chief guest while UNO Fahmida Huque , Matlab Govt College Principal Md AK Azad and AL leader and Matlab Municipal Mayor Aolad Hossain Lytton were the special guests on the occasion.
In this connection, a function was held at the venue with KFT’s founder Mohammad Belayet Hossain Zulhas in the chair.
In his welcome address , the Trust’s founder has said, ”It will have separate buildings. one for the girls and the other for the boys. Students will be given scholarships as incentives . The collegiate school will have both English and Bangla mediums for study”.
 The school’s founders Fatema Begum and MA Bari have said, ”In order to build up bright generations who will have to encounter the future challenges in the days ahead, we have decided to build a Collegiate school here in a healthy atmosphere. Standard and quality education will be ensured at all costs with an aim to secure 100 pc pass in this collegiate school. Stipends will also be awarded to the poor and meritorious students so that no financial problems can hinder their smooth studies.
Students will be groomed up properly and smartly by qualified teachers so that none of them are screened out of any test exams in any public universities for higher education or in any job exam in future”.
Siddheswari Girls’ College Principal Md Shahabuddin Munshi, the collegiate school’s Principal Lt. Col (Rtd) Babar Md Selim, Dhaka Commerce College Prof Billal Hossain, Upazila Secondary Education officer A Rahim Khan, Matlab Press Club’s founder Shaokat Hossain, Woman leader Nusrat Baki, among others spoke highly appreciating and welcoming the initiative of setting up this collegiate school at Matlab Dakhshin Sadar.
