College teacher Krishna cremated

The funeral of college teacher Krishna Kaberi Biswas was held at their Daharpachuria village in Baliakandi upazila of Rajbari district on Saturday.
The victim’s husband and BRTA Deputy Director Shitangshu Shekhar Biswas, and their daughters Adri, 8, and Shruti, 15, were not present at the function due to sickness, said SM Shahjalal, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Balikandi Police Station.
A huge number of relatives and well-wishers who joined the crematorium function at the local cemetery, sought the arrest and
exemplary punishment of accused Zahirul Islam, the police official said.
Earlier, the body had been taken to their village by an ambulance from the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) morgue in the morning, he said.
The body was kept at the hospital morgue for the last five days after the death in the hospital on March 30, the OC said.
The victim Krinshna, her husband Sitangshu Shekhar and daughters Adri, and Shruti came under attack at their apartment on Iqbal Road in Mohammadpur of the capital on March 29..
The sensational murder case was transferred to the DB from Mohammadpur Police Station on Saturday, said Mahbubur Rahman, Investigation Officer (IO) and Inspector of Mohammadpur thana.
