Yasha Mridha Sukanya (18), an HSC candidate for Siddheshwari Girls College in the capital, went missing on June 23 afternoon while giving a model test at the college. On that day at 8:39 PM, a message was sent to mother Nazma Islam Laki’s Facebook messenger from her messenger saying, ‘I am coming, I am on the road.’ Since then there has been no trace of daughter Sukanya.
As a result, Mother Lucky sits all the time looking for the only daughter’s way back.
Lucky, a resident of South Mugdapara Anandabazar Road in the capital has been running to the members of law enforcements including Thana Police, Police Intelligence Department and RAB for the past two months to find the girl. But no one can trace her daughter yet.
According to the mother, Sukanya was kidnapped and trafficked. Mother wants to get her daughter back alive at any cost.
On the day of Sukanya’s disappearance, her mother filed a General Diary with GD Ramna Model Police Station. The next day, Sukanya’s alleged lover, private university student Istiaq Ahmed Chishti and Istiaq’s friend Sheikh Salman were arrested by the police.
Later Salman was released on bail but Istiaq is in jail.
Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Mishu Biswas, the supervising officer of the current investigation of the case, said, “Investigation is going on. We have not yet found any trace of the missing college girl. Lover Istiyaq has been remanded for two days for questioning.
After the remand, he was sent to jail on Friday by the court. However, the information about where Sukanya has gone or is not available from him, police officials said.
