Speakers at a post-rally discussion in Rajshahi emphasized the need for a positive attitude towards disabled persons for their rehabilitation in the society.
They also underscored the need for ensuring congenial atmosphere to make an end to repression and discrimination against the persons with disabilities to enable them leading a decent life.
The speakers said these while addressing the inaugural session of a daylong National Disabled Drama Festival-2014 at Shaheed Kamaruzzaman Central Park and Zoo premises on Wednesday.
Action for Disability and Development (ADD), National Grassroots Disabled Organizations and District Badhan Protibandhi Sangstha (DBPS) jointly organized festival in association with European Union and CAFOD.
Mayor of Rajshahi Mosaddeque Hoossain Bulbul spoke at the ceremony as the chief guest while Principal of Rajshahi College Prof Habibur Rahman and ADD Country Director Shafiqul Islam spoke as special guests.
With ADD Programme Coordinator Nurun Nabi in the chair, social worker Shahin Akter Rainy, Editor of Daily Sonali Sangbad Liakat Ali, Editor of Daily Sonar Desh Akbarul Hassan Millat, President of Shaw Unnayan Mustafizur Rahman Khan and BLAST Coordinator Advocate Abdus Samad also spoke.
