Cognizance order in 5 Gaibandha Razakars’ case April 12

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 on Sunday set April 12 to pass order on whether to take into cognizance the charges pressed by the prosecution against five alleged Razakars from Gaibandha.
The five accused are Abdul Zabbar Mandal, Jafiar Rahman, Abdul Wahed Mandal, Mamtaz Ali Bepari and Ronju Miah.
“We have submitted the formal charge on March 9, pressing five charges of crimes against humanity against the accused,” Prosecutor Mukhlesur Rahman Badal said to the two-member tribunal.
Justice Shahinur Islam, senior member of the two-judge tribunal, then set April 12 for passing cognizance order.
Meanwhile, the prosecution also brought tribunal’s attention to the fact that one accused in the case Akbar Ali Khan, has died on December 3, 2016, in Kushtia.
