The Coastguard arrested at least three people and recovered around 1,000 kilograms (kg) of jatka from Mawa fisheries godown under Louhajang upazila of Munshiganj district on Wednesday.
“A huge quantity of jatka was recovered in a special drive by the Coastguard in the early hours of Wednesday,” said Lieutenant Commander Amirul Huq, media official of Coastguard headquarters.
Acting on a tip-off, the Coastguard team recovered an estimated 1000 kilograms jatka after searching a pick-up (Dhaka Metro- na-19-1679). Three people, including the pick-up driver, were arrested during this time.
