Coast Guard drive recovers items worth over Tk 3 cr

Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) seized various items, including different species of fish fries and current nets worth around Tk 3.2 crore conducting simultaneous drives in Chandpur, Chittagong, and Pagla area of Naryangonj in a 24-hour period till 6am on Thursday.
Sources at the BCG headquarters said based on the secret information, different Zones and seized 1200 kgs Jatka fries, 15 lakh pieces of shrimp fries, two lakh pieces Faisa fish fries, 6.59 lakh meters current nets and 9 pieces of noennets, said Lt Commander

Besides, seven fishermen were arrested along with a wooden boat on charge of catching shrimp fries from Bishkhali river of Pathatghata during the time. Later, each detained fisherman was fined Tk 5,000 each by the mobile court led by executive magistrate and also Patharghata Upazila Nirbahi Karmakarta Md Humayun Kabir in the same period.
