C’nawabganj UZ candidates committed for transparency

Chairman candidates of the coming upazila elections in Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila on Wednesday promised that they would maintain transparency and accountability, if elected.
The ‘face the public’ programme was arranged by the Committee of the Concerned Citizen (CCC), Chapainawabganj of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) at Chapainawabganj Government College premises on Wednesday afternoon.
The function was held with the president of the CCC Advocate Saiful Islam Reza in the chair. Chairman candidates Advocate Shamsul Hoque of Awami League, Tasiqul Islam Tosi of BNP and Niamul Hoque of Jatyo Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) attended the function. Another candidate Mokhleshur Rahman of Jamaat, did not attend the function.
JSD candidate Niamul Hoque extended his support to AL candidate Advocate Shamsul Hoque saying that he would not contest the polls.
The two chairman candidates expressed how they would conduct the upazila parishad if they can be elected. They also answered different questions made by the people.
An oath taking programme was also held in the function and the candidates and the voters gathered in the function took the oath to vote for honest and efficient candidates. The programme was conducted by the CCC president Advocate Saiful Islam Reza.
