Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) declared bounty worth Tk 5-lakh for Kamrul Shikdar alias Abu Musa, the alleged mastermind of killing former SP Babul Akhter’s wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu.
CMP commissioner M Iqbal Bahar came up with this declaration at a press briefing in CMP office in the port city on Thursday (October 6).
The law enforcers arrested seven persons till now in the murder case, of them, two gave confessional statements under Section 164, he added.
Later, following an analytical procedure, the police came up in the conclusion that a gang led by Musa conducted the drive.
Regarding Babul Akhtar, the CMP commission said he would be called again officially if needed as he filed the case.
However, Babul Akhtar also expressed his interest to discuss the matter with police once again from where new facts will come out, hoped the police.
Earlier on June 5, a group of miscreants riding on motorbike reportedly stabbed and shot dead Mahmuda Khanam Mitu while she was going to GEC intersection from her residence along with her son to get on a school bus early in the morning.
