Biman hijack: CMP confirms toy gun among evidences: Case shifted to CTTC

Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Mahbubur Rahman has revealed that a toy gun is among the evidence collected from the hijacked Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight.
The CMP commissioner confirmed the media on phone on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the case filed for the attempted hijacking of a Bangladesh Biman Airlines aircraft-was transferred to the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP).
CTTC Inspector Rajesh Barua has been appointed the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case filed with the police station in connection with flight hijacking in Chattogram.
Soon after receiving the case, a CTTC team, led by Rajesh, visited the Shah Amanat International Airport and the scene of the incident. The investigators seized the plane as evidence and placed it under the custody of Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh (CAAB).
According to case details, passengers and cabin crew members of Biman’s Flight BG-147 saw the suspect, Palash, carrying a firearm and a bomb-like material when he tried to hijack the aircraft. The suspect exploded two firecracker-like objects during the attempt.
On Sunday evening, Palash hijacked the Dubai-bound plane after it took off from Dhaka. After the plane landed at Chittagong Airport, all 134 passengers and 14 crew members were safely evacuated from the aircraft.
Palash did not harm any passenger or crew members, but demanded to talk with the Prime Minister, and his wife.
Palash was killed in a confrontation with security forces at the time of retrieving the aircraft to end the crisis.
