Chattogram Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce & Industry appreciates the decisions of the Chattogram Port Authority for exempting 5% port charges on delivery of consignments on holiday. CMCCI President Khalilur Rahman and the vice President AM Mahbub chowdhury welcomed the Port Chairman Commodore Zulfikar Aziz while exchanging views with the CPA chairman at latter’s office chamber on Thursday.
CPA chairman told the CCCI leaders that govt is cordially trying to increase the handling capacity of the port following the bulk increase of port activities with the global competitions.
He ssaid govt is very much eager to implement the Bay Terminal project within the targestted time.
He said CPA in the meantime, procured necessary handling equipments from abroad and the installing process is undergoing.
The CMCCI leaders appreciated the CPA decision over exempting delivery charges in delivery of consignments on holiday which is a epoch making decision will remain as a milestone for the CPA.
CPA chairman also emphasizing the automation in port activities and desies for turning the port into a one of the globally standard seaport.
