Cluster admission tests to 32 universities from Sep 3

Cluster admission tests to 32 universities will be held in three stages. The Vice-Chancellor’s Council has decided to take the test on September 3, 10, and 17.
The decision was taken at a meeting of vice-chancellors at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in the capital on Friday.
Bangabandhu Digital University Vice Chancellor Professor Mohammad Noor confirmed the matter to the media at night.
He said the Vice-Chancellor’s Council has met today. All the university admission tests have been scheduled there.
He further said that this time cluster admission tests will be held in 32 universities. The test will be held on September 3, 10, and 17. In today’s meeting, only the time of admission test has been fixed. Later preparations will be made by meeting the respective academic councils of the university.
However, seven agricultural university exams will be held separately. It has been decided to schedule this test at any time in the month of September.
Meanwhile, at a meeting of the University Grants Commission on Thursday, it was decided to conduct admission tests in 32 public universities in the country for the 2021-2022 academic year at the undergraduate level. This year, Kishoreganj University of Science and Technology, Chandpur University of Science and Technology, and Habiganj Agricultural University will take part in the new batch admission test.
According to meeting sources, the admission test schedule will be finalized by the university council meeting. However, this year admission tests will be taken in different colleges outside the university center. The eight universities that are outside the cluster system will conduct admission tests like their own.
At the meeting, UGC recommended to the universities outside the cluster to schedule admission tests, take an admission test, publish results and time of admission, place subjects centrally, schedule change of department, and pay one-time admission fee. In addition, the UGC has suggested reducing the admission test fees and the number of seats in public universities. It also called for a decision on

which syllabus admission test will be taken and at the meeting of the university council about giving the opportunity of second-time admission test.
University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman (Routine Responsibilities) Prof. Dil Afroza Begum presided over the meeting. Prof. Muhammad Alamgir, Professor Biswajit Chand, Professor Md. Abu Taher, Secretary of the Commission, Ferdous Zaman, Director of Public University Management Department Mohammad Zaminur Rahman, and Vice-Chancellors and nominated representatives of the Vice-Chancellors of 36 universities were present.
