Rajshahi University (RU) Music Department is going to perform “Classical Hindustani Vocal Music” at Indira Gandhi Culture Centre (IGCC) here tomorrow.
Dr. Asit Roy, Associate Professor and Chairman, Department of Music, RU, along with his colleagues and students will demonstrate the performance, said an IGCC press release on Wednesday.
Dr Asit Roy and Sholock Hossain, lecturer, will give a Dhrupad presentation.
Alamgir Parvez, lecturer, will present a Khayal while Shaila Tasmeen, assistant professor, will sing a semi-classical piece.
Student of the department – Yusuf Imam, Bulbul Islam, Pias Kumar, Moushumi Biswas, Anamika Sarker and Arpita Chakravarty will make chorus presentations of Dhrupad, Khayal and Tarana.
All are invited to participate in the “Evening of Classical Hindustani Vocal Music” at the IGCC, House No. 35, Road No. 24, Gulshan-1, Dhaka. Entry is open and no need to collect pass. No bag is allowed within the IGCC premises.
