Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain on Friday urged the lawyers to maintain honesty and to protect moral values in professional life.
He was speaking as the chief guest in the annual conference of the Bangladesh Law Association, a platform of the alumnus of the Department of Law of Dhaka University, organised on the university campus yesterday.
The Chief Justice said, “A lawyer should never produce distorted facts in the court. It is because duty to the court and service to the client should be the first priority of a lawyer.”
The Chief Justice urged the students of Dhaka University to come forward to establish rule of law and democracy in the country.
On the occasion, the Attorney General said that a law university would be established soon in the country and Chief Justice will be the Vice-Chancellor thereof.
