UNB, Dhaka :Chief Justice SK Sinha on Monday underscored the need for having a strong Bar Association in order to ensure the rule of law and the freedom of judiciary in the country.He made the remarks while addressing a discussion marking the death anniversary of Shamsul Haque Chowdhury, a Bar leader during the autocratic rule in the 1980s, at the Supreme Court Bar Association auditorium.The Chief Justice said there will be no good judges unless there is a strong Bar.Explaining the reason, he said in Bangladesh most of the Supreme Court judges are appointed from the Bar.Eminent lawyer Dr Kamal Hossain, SCBA President Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun, its General Secretary Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon and former SC judge JusticeNozrul Islam also spoke at the programme with Shamsul Haque Smriti Parishad President and Bangladesh Bar Council Vice-chairman Abdul Baset Majumder in the chair.
