The city’s bus and launch terminals and railway stations on Sunday witnessed overflow of crowd, as tens of thousands of homebound people left the capital city to celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr with their near and dear ones.
The city wore a virtual deserted look due to the departure of the large number of people. Though the homebound people witnessed the major rush as it was the started leaving the city on Thursday, Sunday last working day before the three-day vacation.
The notorious city traffic became less except at few places close to the terminals and shopping malls. Number of the commuters and all kinds of vehicles was less than the previous days. With traffic congestion becoming thinner, the city dwellers got a respite from the usual hustle and bustle.
