A huge show down was held in the port city centring the observation of the founding anniversary of BNP on Thursday.
This was the first programs of the new committee of cityBNP. In the brief rally infront of the party office, President of city unit Dr.Shahdat hossain critised the role of the present govt aimed at harassing the party leaders . He also accused that Ganojagoran Mancha is the agent of govt to sustain power. He also mentioned that present govt is handling a number of anti-BNP projects like ,Jamaat, militancy, Ganojagoran Mancha etc.
He also said founder of the party Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman was in power for only six years and during the short span of period, the country turned into prosperous country and his name can not be wiped out from the history of Bangladesh. He said BNP will fight upto last to resist the govt conspiracy to snatch away the Bir Uttam title and Shawdinata Pada .
Processions from different city ward joined the procession and rally in front of party office and the areas from Kazir dewri to Nasimon bhaban from afternoon.
Among others, central Organizing Secretary Mahbubur Rahman Shamimn, and City Unit General Secretary Abul Hashem Bakkar spoke on the occasion. Leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal, Shchasebok Dal, Tanti Dal and Jasus joined the rally , sources said.
