CID official beaten with hammer in Dhaka

The miscreants beat with hammer and injured a police official of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and his caretaker over a land dispute matter.
The official identified as Gazi Mizanur Rahman, 50, who is now working in CID of Narayanganj district and his caretaker Golam Mostafa, 42.
The incident took place in Mohammadpur’s Basila Garden City area on Sunday afternoon. Both of them now admitted in Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), said Bacchu Mia, Inspector of the hospital outpost.
He said they were later treated in the neurosurgery department. Inspector Mizanur had several stitches on his head.
Before that, Mizanur told the reporter that he used to live in Garden City and has 5 kathas of land of that place. Today (Sunday) boundary pillars were being built there. And his caretaker Mostafa was overseeing the work.
He also alleged that 10-12 people including Shah Alam and Jamil attacked him when he went there on a motorcycle at noon to see the work. They hit him on the head and legs with hammers.
At one point he fell on the ground. That time, they also hit caretaker Mostafa on the head with that hammer, he added.
Injured caretaker Mostafa said he had been working on the border pillar since morning. When Mizanur went there at noon, the terrorists attacked them.
Mizanur’s relative said that Mizanur is talking incoherently due to a head injury. He alleged the miscreant snatched his motorcycle and mobile phone. However, he cannot remember about his service pistol lost or at the time.
Mohammadpur Police Station’s Officer In-charge (OC) Abdul Latif told The New Nation that they heard such news and their officer sent to hospital for inquiry about the matter. They are looking after the matter.
