The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Police on Sunday night arrested 5 people for their involvement in women trafficking to India.
Earlier, four other members of the same gang were arrested. The arrestees are Shaheen, Rafiqul Islam, Biplob Ghosh, Akhtarul and Bablu.
Jisanul Haque, Senior Assistant Superintendent of CID said the arrested Shaheen is a professional driver. He used to take the women to Rafiqul’s house in the border area of Jashore.
“Rafiqul’s accomplices are Biplob and Bablu. They used to cross the border along with the woman by boat.” Jisanul added.
He said in connection with woman trafficking, the family of a victim filed a case with Sabujbagh Police Station on November 28, 2019.
