For the upcoming municipal election, aspirant candidates from different political parties of 4 municipalities under Chuadanga district have started campaign.
Probable candidates of Awami League ( AL) are openly expressing their willingness about getting their nominations from the party.
Out of the 4 municipalities, AL bagged one and B N P three mayoral posts in the last election.
Though that election was not held with party symbols, this year it will be so. It is learnt that almost all mayoral candidates of A L who contested in the last election will get nomination in the upcoming election.
Meanwhile, BNP- backed candidates are yet to start campaign as the party chief has not given any green signal in this connection but the B N P aspirants are also conducting campaigns.
The 4 municipalities are Alamdanga, Zebonnagar, Darsona, and Chuadanga in this district. More than 30 candidate for mayor, over two hundred candidates for councilor posts, and one hundred female reserved councilors are now involved in the poll campaign.
