CHT writers’ conference begins

The second Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) indigenous writers’ conference began at Rangamati Cultural Institute on Friday.
CHT Indigenous Writers’ Forum organised the two-day event with the slogan “Our language, our literature”.
Afsar Ahmed, professor of drama and dramatics department of Jahangirnagar University, inaugurated the programme, attended by about three hundred writers, poets and cultural activists from home and from Tripura state of India. Every indigenous community has their own language and literature which should be practiced and preserved as well; otherwise it will become extinct, said Jyotirindra Bodhipriya Larma, chairman, Chittagong Hill Tracts Regional Council.
Mongol Debbormon, writer of Tripura state, and Pravangsu Tripura, writer of CHT, also spoke.
