Inclement weather again played foul as only 42.5 overs play was possible on day three as Rajshahi division made a spirited reply scoring 147 for one in reply Chittagong Division’s 432 at stumps on the third day in the tier 2 of four-day 19th National Cricket League held on Sunday at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi.
Opener Jahurul Islam looked to be in good nick as he was batting at 75 not out with 12 boundaries in his 119 ball stay. He put on 101 for the first wicket stand with Myshukur Rahman (36). Nazmul Hossain Shanto was the other not out Rajshahi batsman with 25.
Earlier in the day Chittagong resuming at 419 for 8 were bowled out 432 in 142.5 overs. Yasir was the leading Chittagong batsman with 94 studded with 14 boundaries and two over boundaries. Other notable Chittagong batsmen were Sazzadul Islam (68), Irfaan Sukkur (65) Tasamul Haque 37, Mahbubul Karim 22, Imrul Karim 18, Kazi Kamrul 44, Iftekhar Sajjad 43.
Shariful Islam with three for 70 was the leading Rajshahi bowler. He was well supported by Saqlain Sajib and Nazmul Hossain shared two wickets each giving away 44 and 76 runs respectively.
