A five-member delegation led by Prof Shen Kaiyan, Director of the Institute of Economics of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS), China paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman at his office of the university on Thursday.
Other team members were Prof Shuang Ji Li, Jessica Zhang, Hogxia Wang and Lee, said a DU press release.
Chairman of the Department of Development Studies of DU Prof M Abu Eusuf, Prof Mahbub Ullah, Professor Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir and Prof Kazi Maruful Islam were present, among others, on this occasion.
During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest specially the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programmes by the DU and Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS), China.
Exchanges of teachers, students and researchers between the two institutions were also discussed in the meeting. They agreed to sign a MoU in this regard soon, the release added.
