A 5-member delegation of Qujing Normal University of China led by Professor Dr. Wu Yuliang called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman on Tuesday at the latter’s office.
Chairperson of DU Linguistics Department Prof. Dr. Salma Nasrin and Prof. Dr. Syed Shahrier Rahman of the same department were present on this occasion.
During the meeting they discussed various issues including the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic programmes and signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dhaka University and Qujing Normal University.
Possibilities of exchange of teachers and students between the two universities were also discussed in the meeting. Prof. Dr. Wu Yuliang apprised DU VC Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman of academic programmes and history of Qujing Normal University. Prof. Dr. Wu Yuliang told DU VC that Qujing Normal University has Bengali Department and his university wants to strengthen collaborative programs with DU especially with the departments of Bengali and Linguistics.
DU VC Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman assured the Chinese delegates of providing all possible help and cooperation in this regard.
