China may benefit from BD’s socio-economic policies: Chinese VP

Chinese Vice-premier Liu Yandong Monday said Bangladesh has adopted many successful policies to tackle different economic and social challenges.
“China may get benefit taking lesson from the experience of Bangladesh,” she added.
Liu Yandong passed the remarks during a call on the Speaker of the Parliament and CPA Executive Committee Chairperson Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, MP, at her office.
Terming Bangladesh a good friend of China, the Vice-premier (VP) hoped the friendly relation between the two countries would be strengthened further in the coming days.
The Chinese VP assured the Speaker of her countries’ continuous cooperation to Bangladesh’s journey for becoming a middle income country by 2021.
“Apart from the expansion of trade, bilateral cooperation and friendly relation would be continued,” she hoped.
Expressing gratitude to China, Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury expects that existing cooperation between China and Bangladesh in the field of economy and social development would reach a new height.
The Speaker said China could play important role in industrialization of Bangladesh through cooperation in the power sector.
Mentioning readymade garments as the vital sector for Bangladesh economy, Dr Shirin told the Chinese VP female workers are contributing substantially in the sector to push the economy forward.
Chinese Education Minister Yuan Guiren, Vice- Minister of Foreign Ministry Liu Zhenming, Vice- Minister of Cultural Affairs Ministry Ding Wei and Chinese Ambassador in Bangladesh Ma Mingqiang were present.
