China bury Fiji in goal avalanche in WHL

Title aspirants China were in no mood for charity as they buried Fiji 17-0 on the way to the semifinals of the World Hockey League (WHL) Round 2 after winning their quarterfinal tie held on Thursday at Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium.
China, the second highest ranked team of the tournament did not disappoint sparse home crowd as they made mincemeat of Fiji defense by slotting 17 goals in a goal feast.
Fiji players were stunned as they remained busy defending in their defense arena throughout the proceedings.
Chinese players looked in impressive form as they converted 12 penalty corners and also scored five field goals against hapless opponent. China became the second team to join Malaysia in the semifinals.
China who are ranked number 18 in FIH rankings, found heroes among Guo Xiaoping and Du Talake as both of them slotted three goals respectively, E Wenlong and E Liguang netted two goals each.
Ao Suozhu, E Wenhui, Ao Rang, Wo Wei, Lu Fenghui, Du Chen, Guo Jin scored apiece to join the goal feast for China.
