Due to demise of legendary play-back singer of the country Andrew Kishore, singer Chhonda Islam became affected. Chhonda performed with Andrew Kishore in stage shows for four years at a time before the legendary play-back singer became sick. On the stage, when Andrew took part in any stage show Chhonda obviously performed with him. But Chhonda now lost her rhythm due to death of Andrew. She could not become normal after death of the play-back legend. Chhonda yet not returned to stage show.
While talking in this regard Chhonda said, “I had full confidence that Dada will return to stage show after getting recovery from illness. Audience will be impressed to hear his songs again. But that didn’t happen. He is not alive now. After my father, I respected him a lot. Due to his demise, a void has been created in my heart. I don’t know when this void will be filled up. It is true that while performing in stage show I will surely miss Andrewda.”
Today is Chhonda’s birthday. She will pass the day along with her mother. Besides Andrew Kishore, she also rendered songs with Badshah Bulbul, Shuvro Dev, Monir Khan, Atik Hasan, Polash, Fakir Shahabuddin and others in different times. S K Shahidul Islam was her first mentor in music.
